After a few years of buying and selling video games of all sorts, you gain some insight of their worth. Nintendo games especially come to mind. With all the games they released some of them still hold a value, and there’s definitely money to be made. I compiled a list of some of the more common titles that have some value, and also some that don’t. But regardless its great to check out before you sell your games at a garage sale for 50 cents. It’s also a good gauge for people looking to buy there childhood back… be warned, it can get expensive.

Where I get my prices*

First off…. The NES

For everyone who’s owned an original Nintendo has probably owned at least one copy of the first three Super Mario Bros. games. The first one isn’t worth anything because, until a few years ago, it was the best selling game of all time. On top of it, there are three different releases of the first Super Mario that everyone has tucked away somewhere (they're listed below). So without further ado, and before I bore you to death and you click another link, here’s the list:

Super Mario Bros. – $3.50

Super Mario Bros./ Duck Hunt- quack - $0.40

Super Mario Bros./ Duck Hunt/ World Class Track Meet- $0.68

Super Mario Arcade- $12.70

Super Mario 2 – $6.75

Super Mario 3 - $8.02

The Legend of Zelda – $12.50 – If you happen to have a new copy around, it sells for $250— that sellers being too greedy and probably wont get that much.

Zelda II- The Adventure of Link- $5.99

Mega Man I- $34.95

Megaman II- $10.99

Megaman III- $9.25

Megaman IV- $13.75

Megaman V-$29.95

Megaman VI- $19.49

Contra- $19.75

Tetris- $2.09—but if you have the Tengen copy, lucky you:

Tetris the Soviet Mind Game- $49.95

Metroid- $5.99

Mike Tyson’s Punch Out- $11.95

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project- $13.00

(Other NES TMNT games not worth as much)

Kirby’s Adventure- $11.90— And this is if the game is “acceptable” I have a copy still in the box, don’t mean to brag, and a seller has one $25.99 on Amazon. I’m a happy lad.

Final Fantasy- $12.70

Castlevania -$16.95

SNES:

Again, Mario games are popular; some of the more odd ones are rare and are crazzzy. If Crazy Redd from Animal Crossings were into the video game black market, he would choose Super Nintendo games as his main sellers…. I hope you have his letter of recommendation:

Super Mario World - $5.79 – I’ve seen this as high as $15, so it changes.

Well there you have it. These are strictly what a seller online would have ‘em at. These are also the prices my old job used, so I imagine other second hand businesses would go off these as well. And if you plan on selling them, do some research to see what your games are worth. Check other websites on prices and check local stores that buy games to see what you can get. I wouldn’t expect a high cash-in value on them if selling to a local business, sell them online if you’re looking for the best deal. Goodluck.

*I use Amazon.com for all the pricing. I find it better organized, and the prices I used are the lowest out of all the sellers. Your game can be worth more or less depending on condition including other factors. If there is a local business in the area that buys and sells these types of games, they will probably be going off Amazon and Ebay as well. Almost 100% of the time.

Crazzy!!
